In 2004, we installed 61 elevators - approximately five per month. Today, across our Australian and Californian operations, we install more than five elevators every day.
Next Gen Gearless Traction eliminates the traditional gearbox between the motor and the drive sheave, allowing the motor to spin at the same speed as the cabin moves. This direct-drive design removes mechanical friction points that create noise and heat.
Without gears, there is no gear whine, no meshing friction, and no energy loss in the drivetrain. The result is silent operation and exceptional efficiency. The E-Series runs so quietly that residents barely notice the elevator in daily use. This gearless design also means superior longevity — fewer moving parts means less wear and a longer service life.
Traction means the elevator cabin is suspended by steel ropes that pass over a drive sheave (a large pulley), with a counterweight balancing the load. The sheave is turned by a motor to raise and lower the cabin.
Traditionally, a gearbox sits between the motor and sheave, reducing the motor’s speed to move the cabin at a safe pace. Gearless means the motor is coupled directly to the sheave without intermediate gears, so the motor spins at the exact speed the cabin travels. The E-Series uses this direct-drive approach, which is more efficient, quieter, and requires less maintenance than geared systems.
The E-Series offers two speed options, up to 108 fpm — nearly double the A-Series’ 59 fpm. A single floor-to-floor trip takes about 5 seconds on the E-Series, compared to roughly 10 seconds on the A-Series.
For homes with three or more floors, or for families making frequent trips, this speed advantage noticeably improves daily convenience and reduces travel time. The E-Series’ speed is safe for residential use, built to applicable US elevator safety standards, and combined with smooth acceleration and deceleration for passenger comfort.
Choose the E-Series when you have three or more floors, require higher capacity (up to 7 persons / 950 lbs), want faster travel (up to 108 fpm vs. the A-Series’ 59 fpm), or prefer premium luxury finishes and customization. The E-Series serves up to 6 floors, making it ideal for multi-story homes.
The E-Series also comes with valuable standard inclusions, including In-Cabin Self-Rescue (ICSR) at no extra cost, a 3-year warranty on parts, and first-year service. For two-story homes with modest use, the A-Series offers excellent value. For prestige homes or high-use scenarios, the E-Series is the superior choice.
The E-Series luxury home elevator’s final price depends on the number of floors served, cabin size, door type, custom finishes, and site-specific conditions. Every E-Series project receives a detailed fixed-price quote covering supply, installation, testing, and handover.
Because component, shipping, and currency costs move over time, we recheck pricing regularly and confirm your final figure on your quotation — so contact us before finalizing for the best possible price. The quote includes valuable standard inclusions such as In-Cabin Self-Rescue, a 3-year warranty, and first-year service. Builder works such as shaft construction are quoted separately. Request a personalized quotation to understand the full investment for your luxury elevator.
The E-Series requires a pit depth of approximately 12 in to accommodate the counterweight system and additional mechanical clearance needed for its gearless traction mechanism. Compared to the A-Series (7½ in), the deeper pit ensures adequate space for smooth operation and safety components.
The deeper pit is a trade-off for the advantages you gain: silent gearless operation, faster speed, higher capacity, and the ability to serve more floors. During site assessment, we confirm pit depth and work with your builder to ensure adequate depth before shaft construction begins.
Yes. The E-Series can be installed with glass shaft panels on some or all sides, creating a striking visual feature in your home. Glass shafts are particularly popular in modern or minimalist designs where the elevator becomes an architectural statement rather than a purely functional element.
We work with architects and glaziers to ensure glass panels meet safety standards, structural requirements, and building codes. Tinted glass is available to reduce heat gain and glare. During the design phase, we discuss glass shaft options, structural implications, and cost with your team. The E-Series’ premium finishes and performance make it the ideal choice for showcase installations.
No. The E-Series’ gearless design makes it highly efficient despite its faster speed. Direct-drive traction eliminates gear friction and energy loss, so the motor uses power only for useful work: moving the cabin and counterweight. Higher speed does not inherently consume more energy.
In fact, the E-Series can consume less energy than geared competitors because there are no frictional losses in a gearbox. For homes with multiple floors and frequent use, the E-Series’ fast travel time reduces total energy consumption by completing trips quickly and returning to rest state sooner.
Yes. The E-Series cabin is spacious and can accommodate a standard wheelchair. Cabin dimensions and door widths are designed to allow wheelchair users to enter, turn, and exit comfortably at each level. The E-Series can serve up to 7 persons (950 lbs capacity) and can be customized with accessibility features such as lower control buttons, raised floor sensors, and wider door openings.
We work with you and any accessibility specialists to ensure the E-Series meets your needs. Features such as anti-slip flooring, full-height safety beams, and smooth acceleration benefit all users. For ADA or other disability-access requirements, we can provide detailed specifications and compliance documentation.
